Way to weigh in Ed! Could be the world’s record or at least a possible nice little benefit from Mount St. Helens contributing to your abundant bounty (?). Native Americans called the mountain Louwala-Clough, which means “smoking or fire mountain”. Maybe they were thinking of lighting a REAL big one?

Two things are for sure, the tobacco goddess has blessed your efforts, and you got a lot of firin’ and smokin’ to do.
Rub your soil on those bones!

That's amazing Ed and great work.

Mine yeilded much less than half that and ended up with enough for 3 years.Your plants made mine look like suckers.

Gotta say it was fun though. Huh!

If everybody smoked there could be a tobbaco shortage and high prices!

Ed,
Glad to see you got your monies worth from those doggone plants. I know a lot of hard work and sweat went into them..only right you get that type of harvest.
You know mine went the opposite end of the spectrum...thats what makes "average yield" average. We will do better next year for sure.
Been doing the relentless search for Bambi lately so I have not done anything around here for several weeks.....except I cut and hung my second freeby sucker crop....might get another pound or two there at most.
I swear once you get those rascals curing in the kiln you should be able to smoke them. I gave a couple of home rolled to a couple of nurses at work, and they actually thought the burley was milder than my Virginia.....don't quite understand that...not going to try??
I have been mixing mine to make my store-bought go further. Produces a nice smoke that I can live with. I plan on playing around a bit with the NRustica to see where that takes me...haha! May have got about a 1/4 pound of that all toll..will be growing more of them next year. Have mixed some (2 or 3) of the leaves with my dark fired in my snuff...my son says it is too strong for him....couple of the other guys said it was great!
Good to see you back on the forum..tell that 'ol cuss from Ky. to get his butt back here too!
Take care,

w ydeboi.......
I have all of my cured plugs setting on top of the cabinets by my desk in the kitchen. They are out of the way....(I can look up and see the bags) but close enough to keep me excited.
I cut up one plug of each to play with and experiment with....but my babies are taking a long nap until later. Occasionally I take a big sniff.....(my god they smell good!!!)......knowing they are only getting better every day.  Too bad they don't have 'smell' mail yet...you all would be drooling by now!
no fine wine until its time!

Ed, get you some big cardboard boxes and when it's color cured pack em away in a dry place. Check em about once a month for mold or insect damage and let em age. Some folks say they are good to smoke at 3 months, others longer. That's what I'm doing, just don't have time for kilning and such.

You know I really didn't need to hear that...5 pt....I missed a 7 pt (14 point here) got ready to take the shot and my da&m arrow fell off the string..hit the ground and he walked off laughing.....I know he was laughing....one of the biggest deer I had ever seen....and he walked away laughing...(I am waiting for someone to post the video on utube as one of the biggest screw ups in deer hunting)....LAUGHING I SAY!!!!!
Anyway check the feel of the leaves for their moisture...when its about the right RH. Put some in bags....spritz with water...check in a couple of days...I used the feel test, and could pretty much gauge how the RH was staying. Mine for the most part were all pressed and in plugs...but I had separate leaves also I was baking on the side.

Not bad for a shtick of tobacco!

One thing you can say about growing all that baccy... it's not jus' a job, but a lasting career! Fortunately, there are lots of tax free smoke breaks, and you don't have to wear one of those funny hair nets while you work.
